  1. RR’s are considered manufacturers coupons so when using RR’s on items that you also have manufacturers coupons for you will need a “filler” item ( something that is inexpensive that does not require a MF coupon for like this week they have Mars candy bars for $0.49. They only accept as many Manufactures Coupons as you have items, stacking in store coupons is fine and does not count towards that total so the $2 in store coupon is fine but when using the $1 MF Coupon plus a $1 RR you need 2 items for 2 reasons 1) you are using 2 Manufacturers coupons and 2) your total is only going to be .99 before tax and the RR does not pay for tax so your total before tax has to be for pre tax totals. What you do is use the In store coupon with the MF coupon for one nail polish get a candy bar for .49 your total before tax is 1.48 use your $1 RR and then your total is .48 plus tax then you get the $3 RR after your purchase

  2. Ladies, I have the breakdown on my blog if you would like to visit and see how I bought two mascara/eyeshado duos and a nailpolish for only having to pay the taxes on the products.

  4. I went to Walgreens for the Revlon nail polish–had $1 RR from last week and my $1 man. coupon. The cashier told me that I was not able to use them both because RR (register rewards) are also considered man. coupons and you can only use ONE in a transaction. Was she wrong? Sometimes all these rules are frustrating. One cashier lets you do one thing and the next one won’t. I still got my polish cheap and got $3 RR. Has this happened to anyone else?

      • I just started couponing a few months ago and I have found Walgreens to be VERY frustrating and complicated and not really worth the effort. Their coupon policy is that the RR are considered a manufacturer coupon so no you can’t use a RR with a MC for only 1 item but you can use an IVC store coupon with a MC or a RR for only 1 item. It took me a couple shopping trips and few times reading their coupon policy to finally understand everything. I much prefer CVS=)

        • i work at walgreens…. the way the RR work is that you can only use 1 per an item, and if you try to use the RR that you got on the same product, your not gonna get your 2nd RR…. but you can combine manfacturer’s coupons with an walgreens coupon and a RR

        • I agree! Walgreen is far more difficult to work with. Too many rules and inconsistencies all around. When I stick with CVS, I am usually a much happier person!

    • Were you only buying the one item? Maybe she meant you can’t use 2 man. on one item (which is true) or misunderstood that rule herself. If you were buying the nail polish AND another item in the same transaction, you were in the right!

I wouldn’t be surprised if something like this happens at my Walgreens, though it hasn’t yet. All the employees are extremely helpful, but it is as if they’ve received different training, or aren’t informed about changing policies. They each deal with coupons, coin rolls and multiple transactions differently. I’ve ran into one who doesn’t quite understand how their weekly ad works!

That being said, I love my Walgreens store. There just needs to be some consistency in training or some on going training.
