  1. I went to the store in Cedar Hill. The coupon beeped because its value is 1 cent more than the item price, and the cashier (after consulting with a supervisor) refused to enter the coupon manually because it was “against their store policy to accept internet coupons that would give a customer something for free”. This is my thought: IF the item price had been $1 instead of 99 cents, the coupon would have gone through smoothly (not beeped) and we would have been able to get it for free….

    • @Tina, They are twisting the policy a bit. Their policy states that they do not accept internet coupons for free items, but I think that means those coupons that say they are for a free item, up to $x value. If you have a regular coupon that just happens to make something free, then it should be perfectly fine.

  2. My store in Grand Prairie TX did not let me use the $1 Best Life (1/2SS) to get the Best Life butter for free (It’s on sale for .99 and the manager explained since it’s already on sale, I can’t use the coupon.) Is this true? I could not find the store policy any where. I have 6 coupons I would love to use at least a couple.

    • @Ann, No, this is not true. The cashier should have adjusted the coupon down to the price of the item. If they tell you that again, ask to see a written copy of the coupon policy.

      Part of their policy states:
“We do not accept internet coupons for free items.” and “The coupon can not EXCEED the value of the item.”

So they should adjust coupon down so it does not exceed the value. And the coupon is not for a free item. It just happens to make it free. 😉
