Daily Frugal Tip: Make Your Own Flavored Milk!
Love chocolate milk but hate the high price? Here’s a fun frugal tip from Rachel:
“Make your own chocolate milk! Chocolate milk is so much more expensive than regular milk that it was pretty much a “birthdays only” treat at our house. That is until I discovered that we could make supremely delicious chocolate (or any flavor) milk using fancy coffee creamer! Coffee-Mate Chocolate Raspberry is a good choice, but my two all-time favorites now are International Delight Hershey’s Chocolate Caramel and Butter Pecan. There are so many good flavors out there. Just experiment and find your family’s favorites! Simply add enough creamer to a glass of milk to suit your taste and stir with a spoon. It also makes great milk shakes when you add it to your favorite ice cream, and I’ve added creamer to plain yogurt to make tasty drinkable yogurt!”
Pretty cool idea if you ask me! You can often get very cheap or close to FREE coffee creamer when you combine coupons with sales. Need some coffee creamer coupons? Here you go!

I’ve never bought chocolate milk. I’ve always made my own using syrup or powder. Usually the syrups or powders do not cost too much, but I like the idea of getting free creamer and using that. Thanks for the tip! I would have never thought to use creamer in anything other than coffee/hot chocolate.
