Daily Frugal Tip: Prepare Your Veggies Ahead of Time!
Check out this great frugal tip from reader Somari:
“When a recipe calls for a portion of peppers, onion, scallions, or ginger I cut up the entire vegetable and portion out the rest in separate freezer bags. The next time I need these veggies for a meal, I can grab them from the freezer and I’m ready to go!”
This is great. It saves on time, and it also saves on money by not letting any of our fresh veggies go to waste!
Thanks, Somari!

My husband does most the cooking in our house, but hates to prep veggies so I will take a whole bag of onions or 3-4 peppers and chop them up and then put them in the little snack bags and put those in larger bags and pop them in the freezer. Yes they get a little soggy when they come out so they don’t work for eating fresh, but when they are being cooked it is fine. He simply finds the large bag and takes a little one out and pops them in the dish frozen and we are good to go.
