Turn Leftover Bread Crusts Into French Toast Sticks
If you have a little one who refuses to eat the crust on sliced bread, here’s a great tip from reader Nici:
“Two of my three kids don’t like the crust on their sandwiches. Rather than throwing away the crusts once they’re cut off, I store them in a sandwich bag in the fridge. After a couple of lunches, I have enough crusts to make french toast ‘sticks’ for breakfast. Everyone loves them!”
What a great trick! The easiest way to do this put the bread crusts in a bowl, toss with melted butter, cinnamon and sugar. Then lay them out on a lined baking sheet and pop them in a pre-heated oven at 350 for about 5-8 minutes.
What other creative ways do you use up leftover crust? I personally like to make croutons from dried-out bread.
Thanks, Nici!

This is a great idea! I never even thought to do this. I’ve made croutons but have recently started making breadcrumbs out of them. They work great!

I love this idea! I refuse to use any of those sandwich cutters because of the waste!
