“Toothpaste can also be used to clean your DVD movies or games. Just simply dab a little toothpaste on your DVD, and wipe it off with a towel. Voila – scratches are gone!”

At least some toothpastes contain little piece of grit, which it what helps them remove lots of tarter build up. I'm not going to try this myself.
Yes. I think you're supposed to use regular paste.
