Our family loves pizza and so we have dubbed Fridays “pizza night” at our house!  While I usually like to make my own from scratch, I do like to keep a few frozen pizzas on hand for the days when dinner time sneaks up on me.

Freschetta recently sent me some coupons so I could try out the new Freschetta FlatBread Pizza. I am a huge fan of thin crust pizza and especially loved the roasted garlic and spinach variety. Yum. My kids, of course, only wanted pepperoni, and I don’t think my husband has ever come across a pizza he didn’t like!

We also received a pizza kit that contained a pizza stone, pizza cutter, and oven mitt. I am not familiar with the purpose of pizza stones and so I haven’t used mine yet, but my husband it insists that it will somehow make the pizza awesome (??). I loved getting the oven mitt though (it’s the little things…lol) because mine have seen better days and this one is nice and thick!

    Marinated artichokes, sun dried tomatoes and Italian blend cheese on thin crust pizza. My 3yr old even loves it! Sometimes we also add black olives.

    BTW using a pizza stone helps a lot! It helps cook everything more evenly. I even use mine for baking cookies ☺

    I love to add pineapple, broccolli, green or red or yellow peppers, onion, and chicken. Add the spaghetti sauce on bottom and top with thyme, oregano, parsley, and basil. Top with Mexican style cheese. Then yu have an Hawaiian, Mexican pizza. YUM_O!!

    Yay Pizza stone! We registered for one when we got married but didn’t receive it and i have yet to go out and get one. We also use a stone cloche to bake no knead bread – so yum!

    I love basil, chicken, garlic, mushrooms, onions and blue cheese – gotta be roquefurt!

    My hubby and son love my home made pizza so much, they wanted it 3 nights in a row 2 weeks ago! Marinara and mozzarella of course. I saute marinated chicken tenders (extra virgin olive oil, garlic red wine vinegar, s & p, garlic, Italian seasoning), and once those are cooked through, I set them aside and caramelize some red onions in the same pan. Then I cover the pizza with the chopped chicken, onions, sliced fresh mushrooms, black olives and bacon. YUM! I’ll be making it again tonight for family movie night!

    I love all the things that my family doesn’t … spinach, garlic, mushrooms, colorful peppers, cheeses of ALL kinds and fresh basil and thyme out of the garden. A little meat is OK, but the veggies HAVE IT!

    A pizza stone will help absorb some of the moisture from the pizza creating a crisper crust. Just make sure to preheat the oven with the stone in it so the stone will be hot when you put the pizza in. Also, let the stone cool down in the oven or you risk breaking the stone. Pizza stones are also awesome for baking bread.

    My favorite pizza toppings are onions, mushrooms, peppers and bacon. Bacon is so good on pizza. I love the nice smokey flavor.

    I love onions, green olives and mushrooms as my favorite pizza toppings. It’s hard to find ready made pizza with green olives so I usually have to add my own before baking.

    pizza crust with italian seasoning mixed in it,baked, and brushed with melted butter and sprinkled with parmesan cheese around the edges after baking– topped with gr olives, ham and bacon crumbles from food service store….no fuss no muss…..of course using my pizza stone to bake cookies, precooked wings, etc….makes clean up easy..just hot water no soap and wipe down….great supper and faster cleanup…bring on the pizza!

    Pizza, yum. 🙂 I like lots of meats, cheeses, and veggies on mine. Anything but anchovies. 😉

    A hint about the pizza stone: if yours did not come with care & use instructions, look some up on the web before you cook your first pizza. You’re supposed to only clean them with water, I believe, not soap, and they season like cast iron pans do. That may sound intimidating, but it’s really much easier to wash. 😉

    The Stone is awesome! Makes crusts crispier and fluffier. You will never go back to the old way once you use stone but make sure you read the instructions!!!

    I love pepperoni and jalepenos, but if i’m making from scratch i like to cook up some pureed onions and garlic in butter to use as the sauce. YUM! Top w/a variety of cheeses and then sausage, pepperoni, red pepper and onion.

    My family has many favorite pizza toppings. We usually make one for the adults with alfredo sauce, spinach, bacon, cheese, chicken and sundried tomatoes. The kids usually create their own pizza with marinara sauce, peporoni, ham, pineapple and tons of cheese. We have a family fun night that starts with creating our own pizzas and the kids really enjoy and eat every bite.

    These are my most favorite pizza toppings ever:
    1.) Finely chopped and grilled cherry tomatoes and roasted garlic…♥
    2.) Sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers and olives…♥
    3.) Goat cheese…♥
    4.) just a lovely hint of mint-tamarind chutney for the yummy-factor and to help with digestion since I tend to overeat pizza!! =)
    5.) Oh! How could I forgot broccoli (my favorite!!)
