How to Save Money on Your Disney Vacation

Disney Parks are popular vacation destinations all year long. But between travel, hotel, food, and souvenirs, the cost of your Disney vacation can balloon out of control. With a little preparation, however, you can save a lot of money without skimping on the fun.

Here are some simple ways to save money on your next vacation to Disneyland or Walt Disney World.

Bring Your Own Snacks

Snacks and drinks can get quite pricey in Disney Parks. However, both Disneyland and Walt Disney World policies allow guests to bring outside food and drink into the parks as long as they meet certain guidelines. These guidelines include rules like: you can’t bring alcohol, food must be premade, and only baby food can be packaged in glass.

In addition to being more affordable, having food and drinks handy can save you the time of waiting in line to purchase them within the parks. That time can be much better spent in line for a ride or a show!

Pack for the Weather

This is especially important if you’re traveling during the summer months! Walt Disney World is notoriously hot during the summer, and temperatures at Disneyland can also feel sweltering. Within the parks, you can purchase supplies to deal with the heat, like cooling towels, spray bottles, or fans. But if you want to save money, take the heat into account when you pack. Any cooling products you’d like to bring with you will likely be more affordable if you purchase them from another retailer before your trip.

Buy Souvenirs Ahead of Time

If you know your kid will want a souvenir, you can save money by purchasing the souvenir online before you go to the park. Countless retailers sell Disney merchandise.

You can shop ahead of time online with Amazon or Etsy, or go to a store like Target or Walmart. While it might not seem quite as festive as purchasing an item in the parks, a lot of kids won’t know the difference between a $5 toy from a standard retailer and a $50 toy from a theme park.

Avoid Renting Strollers and Wheelchairs

While Disney Parks offer stroller and wheelchair rentals, they generally aren’t the most affordable options. If you need to rent a stroller or wheelchair, you can also rent through outside companies, which often provide lower rates. Not only that, you might be able to find more comfortable options through outside vendors.

With these simple tips, you won’t have to worry so much about overspending. Instead, you can focus on enjoying your Disney vacation!
