I have some pretty exciting news. There is a brand new Kroger Marketplace in Forney, Texas!!
Well, I guess it’s only exciting if you leave in or near Forney. Which, I do. 🙂
Trust me, it is BIG news for our small town. But it’s also big news for Texas because this is the first Kroger Marketplace in Texas to offer apparel and shoes!!
Yes, our Kroger offers so much more than groceries!
I was invited to a sneak preview tour the day before the store opened, so I’m going to give you all a bit of a virtual tour of the new store!
First of all, the mere size of the store is impressive at 124,000 sq. ft! Believe me, it is huge.
The store has all the “usual” offerings with a pharmacy, fuel center, deli, and bakery, but it also includes lots of unique new features like apparel, a jewelry store, a Starbucks, and so much more!
Yes, that’s right – the new Kroger Marketplace includes a Starbucks coffee shop! Who doesn’t love to grab a cup of coffee to enjoy while shopping?
If coffee isn’t your thing, there is also a self-serve milkshake and slurpee station right beside the Starbucks!
You can find fresh sushi prepared in-store, a salad bar (Forney’s very first salad bar, in fact!), 130 specialty cheeses, freshly made tortillas, and a full-service bakery that even offers gluten-free treats!
I’m also intrigued by their Perfect Fit Meals. These meals are sold near the deli and are a quick and healthy “fast food” option.
The butcher shop offers a wide variety of meats, including several natural and organic options. You can even have them grill your meat purchases at the grilling station while you shop!
The seafood market offers more than 45 varieties of fresh seafood! You can also have your seafood (including lobsters) steamed for you while you shop!
The produce section is absolutely gorgeous and there are more than 150 USDA certified organic fruits and vegetables. Kroger loves to work with local farmers when possible so there are many locally-grown options as well.
The organic/natural foods section is also impressive. No more long drives to the specialty stores in Dallas! You can find organic dried fruit and nuts, frozen fruits and veggies, spices, yogurt, eggs, OJ, almond flour, coconut milk, and many other items, including their Simple Truth store brand options. The gluten-free items are also now marked on the price tags to make them easier to identify.
After we get past all the food, we’re only about halfway through the store!
The Kroger Marketplace in Forney is the first Texas store to also offer apparel and shoes! And it’s not just one or two options, there is a very wide variety! I’m eyeing some really cute boots and I even bought my daughter a new pair of jeans there using the 25% off coupon in the ad!
There is also a huge baby section that includes cribs, strollers, car seats, and playpens in addition to the diapers, formula, and baby food.
Other items you can expect to find at this new store include dishes, small appliances, toys, games, home decor, and furnishings.
Lastly, there is also a Fred Meyer Jewelers in the new store. You can find beautiful necklaces, watches, and even engagement rings.
The new Forney Kroger Marketplace is truly one-stop shopping!
There are many ways to save money at Kroger as well. You can find more than 100 downloadable coupons at Kroger.com and you can use their digital coupon app if you have a smartphone. You can also save up to $1 per gallon of gas with the Kroger Fuel Reward program.
If you live in or near Forney, stop into this unique Marketplace and check out all they have to offer. Be sure to check out the best Kroger Deals and Coupon Matchups first!
