Super Savings Saturday: 84% Savings at Kroger!

I didn’t need a much at the store this week, but I decided to go ahead and go to Kroger to pick up some freebies and stock up on a few items I know I’ll be using during the holidays like chicken broth and diced tomatoes.  I’m so glad I went because I had a blast!  Couponing is so much fun, I honestly don’t know why everyone doesn’t do it…..

Total Spent: $16.57
Total Saved: $90.46 (84%)

My favorite deals are probably that big 10 lb turkey that I got for 39¢/lb or maybe the 3¢ boxes of oatmeal!

You can see the coupon matchups for these deals HERE.

  1. Using your matchups and a $3.00 Pillsbury Catalina, my hubby hit our highest point in couponing today. We saved 98%! It was over $25 in groceries and came to a total of -.22, so he picked up a 2/$1 candy bar and ended up pulling 2 quarters out of his pocket to pay for the whole shebang. And this was after he made a trip to Albies for me to pick up 5 boxes of CapNCrunch for $0.50 total. It’s only taken 10 years, but he’s gone from “I will pay you the $1.00 to not use coupons” to planning his evening errands around my grocery runs and bragging to the checkers that “my wife has this down to a science”. The charity my kid’s school is supporting is going to be so pleased with the over 100 items we’ve donated for under $5.00. I’m not even exaggerating. Been some awesome scores lately! Woo Hoo Mega Buy!

  4. Thanks so much for posting the Kroger deals, you are the only one that I have found that does them for my area :). My daughter and I shopped there yesterday, along with everybody else in town (it was crazy!). But I saved 54%, and for me, that isn’t bad at all. Free food rocks and so does 3 cent oatmeal !

  5. I bought 14 participate items from kroger yesterday, I paid $2 more than I should if I buy 10items. Next time I will remember to count before I check out. I thought they will just give me $0.50 discount if I buy over 10 items, but it didn’t happen.

    • @renee, I’ve done the same thing! But I tend to obsess over the items and double check and count repeatedly to make sure it is the proper ten items.
If it helps, you can take my tip: put the Mega 10 items on one side of the cart and everything else on the other side.
I’m not sure if that makes sense, but it helps me out. Everything is in the same cart, but I can see and easily count the items on the right side of the basket to make sure I have the right amount.

    • @renee, Ugh, I’ve done that too, so I know your frustration! Kroger requires you to buy in groups of ten for this kind of promotion, so you must buy 10, 20, 30, etc. items and the $5 discount comes off for each set of 10 you buy.
