Teach a (Wo)Man How to Fish….
I L.O.V.E. finding a good deal. Even more than that, I love sharing the deals I find with others! Thus, the point of this blog. However. I am only one woman. I can’t do it all. I have two kids, a husband, I homeschool, I have a home that needs cleaning occasionally, and meals that need to be cooked. Not to mention, I like to go to the store and get said deals. 😉
So, as much as I love sharing deals, I can’t share them all! This got me thinking about the Chinese Proverb: “Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life.” It made me realize that I am giving you all fish, but I haven’t been teaching you HOW to fish!
This has inspired an upcoming series entitled “Teach a (Wo)Man How to Fish….” where I’ll be teaching you how to do grocery coupon matchups on your own, search and find printable coupons, find legitimate free samples, and more!
I’m really excited about this! Is there any particular topic that you are interested in learning more about?

I would love to hear all about this. I tried going on my first major couponing trip yesterday and it was miserable. We went to 5 or 6 different stores and still spent 250 dollars and didn’t even save 100. It was very upsetting because I spent all week preparing. Also are you located on the east or west coast. I noticed Albertsons on your website but not Safeway.

I would like to know how to start a blog, I have no idea!

This series sounds great. I would be interested in how to find coupons for specific products. I often find the weekly coupons in the paper etc. are for products I don’t use and have no idea how to find coupons for the ones I want.
Thank you

I’d be eager to find a blogger in my area, so I could hear about local deals…. ( Salisbury, NC) Looking forward 2 learning all I can.

I live in california and it seems all the deals are for stores no where near my area. I only have a stater bros, a target and a winco where I live. So for me, I would like to know ideas about those stores and also about saving time when couponing.

Looking forward to learning more. I use coupons all the time (it’s the reason I subscribe to the Wednesday and Sunday paper). Some day the store is going to give me money back for buying groceries…

I Love this idea! I also don’t want to buy multiple papers , I would love to find traders or sellers close by so that the Q’s arrive in time. Don’t use E-bay am boycotting pay pal. Or how to figure out deals far enough ahead they arrrive in time.

Looking forward to this!!! I try to do it myself before I check myself against the masters, and I’m getting better, but I always miss something. I definitely rely on you guys for the high dollar internet coupons! Thanks for all the work you do!
Anna
Yay Steph! So glad to see you are doing this!

I’d love to hear more about how to not spend a ton to save. I always hear about people who get 6 Sunday papers or buy coupons off the internet, but we just can’t afford to get more than one paper and do the best we can with internet coupons, etc. How can we do well without paying a ton for coupons? And, I’d love to see a site approach their scenarios as such. Many say “Use 5 coupons from the Sunday paper…” I feel like I have to pass on those ones because I only have the one coupon! Appreciate your help.
wylene
@Sarah, I agree – I live in DFW and the Sunday paper here is $3 – and if I buy a local paper that’s only $0.50, it doesn’t have the coupons I want in it a lot of times. I learned that it’s not always economical to buy multiple papers and I know there are coupon clipping services out there too, so if there’s a deal I’m interested in but it requires more coupons than I have, I factor in the cost to see if it’s really worth it and whether or not I’m truly getting a good deal if I have to order those coupons.
Sandy
@wylene, most of the blogs are out of my area and I can’t get the deals. Newspapers yes are $2 or $3. I hear family/friends give coupons & mine sometimes but I have given more of course then I get because I want others to use them if I cant. Please teach us! Lord will make sure it sticks and repeats it self over and over again!
Sally
Wylene, I am in DFW too. I notice that Walmart sell the “Sunday Early Edition” newspaper on Saturday which includes the same coupons in Sunday paper. I don’t the price on the early edition but I assume it should cost less than Sunday paper.
