I think we all knew it would happen sooner or later, that Facebook would begin charging. It’s not happening exactly how I thought it would, but it’s happening nonetheless.
Several people have asked me why they aren’t seeing updates from Couponing 101 any more, and it turns out, only around 1% of you are actually seeing my Facebook updates!
Have you been wondering why you are no longer seeing updates from your favorite Facebook pages? Or why you are missing statuses from friends and family?
Facebook is apparently not showing everything in our news feeds and is now charging to “promote” posts:
Yes, I can now pay hundreds of dollars to get people to see my Facebook updates – the very same people who already “liked” my page indicating that they want to see my updates!
The cost per post is simply outrageous. I would love for everyone to be able to see my updates, but I post up to 10 times per day. This is simply not in my budget.
I know how frustrating it is to miss out on offers, so I recommend you sign up for my daily newsletter. This is a summary of all the posts each day that is sent out each evening.
If you are worried about missing out on time-sensitive deals, there is also an on-demand newsletter that will email the “hot” deals to you within 30 minutes of them being posted. I also suggest you visit the site from time to time to make sure you don’t miss anything.

I was getting one email a day. I have now signed up for the 30 minute one. How unfortunate that your gift to us was going to be turning into a financial gain for them. I appreciate all you do to help us.
I am still getting them, but I had heard about the new Facebook charges. (Their stock hasn't been doing very well)
Question : why are some people able to still see the post and some are not? By the way I am totally in support of you not having to pay hundreds of dollars to post on Facebook. You provide a wonderful free service by way of your blog and I appreciate all you do.
I really have no idea what their method is. I've heard interacting (commenting/liking posts) can make the pages show up in your news feed, but that it isn't a 100% guarantee.

Do you know if people making comments will push it into any of the news feeds?
That is absolutely crazy and outrageous!!! I dont have a facebook, I already follow on the newsletter. But I am absolutely shocked that they would do this and then charge so much. Highway robbery!
I agree - I would probably be willing to pay a couple dollars, but the prices they have are completely unrealistic. I really couldn't believe it.
